About The Playhouse Project

The Playhouse Project is a public art exhibit to take place within the Town of Dillon over a 4-week period in the summer of 2021. This unique marketing event will incorporate 5-8 unique playhouses designed and built in partnership with local construction companies. The event will be marketed across Colorado as a “must see” exhibit, driving traffic and visitors to the Town of Dillon throughout the exhibit. Once the playhouses are revealed, we will host an online “auction” with proceeds being donated to Summit County Habitat for Humanity. The houses will then be delivered to their purchasers where their children can enjoy them for years to come.

OUR MISSION
Summit Habitat brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
OUR METHOD

Habitat for Humanity believes that no one lives in dignity until everyone can live in dignity. When the broad community is engaged in addressing the urgent need for adequate, affordable shelter, we all become less vulnerable and more resilient. In bringing people together, Habitat practices a philosophy of “a hand up, not a handout,” and builds on existing community assets: financial, physical, natural, human, social and spiritual.

OUR IMPACT

In seeking truly transformed communities, Habitat views bringing people together not only as a way to deliver a product—improved housing—but as an essential process for building hope and belief that healthier communities are achievable and beneficial for all. When we work together, statistics become faces with names, stereotypes are broken and everyone has the opportunity both to give and receive. Only then is lasting change likely to occur.

The countdown is progressing, and your spaceship is about to blast off on its voyage of discovery. Because of the incredible speed of your rocket, your trip is short! Crimson Engineering would like to thank Ted’s Sheds Colorado for their help in getting this project off the ground. Original framing design was inspired by Paul of paulsplayhouses.com.

The design inspiration for our playhouse was easy. The New Seasons at Keystone consists of 6 buildings with unique mountain rustic and mountain modern designs so we just tried to figure out what layout would be the most fun for kids, then incorporated our best design features. The inspiration became reality with drawings by architect Todd Webber, planning by realtor Amy Nakos, and construction by Buckhead Renovations and framer Isaac Maldonado. Thanks to all who helped make this happen!

Travis Construction is proud to partner with the Summit Association of Realtors and the Town of Dillon to present “Look to the stars” to benefit FIRC in Summit County and surrounding communities. “Look to the stars” is inspired by the push for exploration and adventure that lives in everyone. It takes its shape from 12 pentagonal shapes creating a sphere called a pyritohedron, (pahy-rahy-tuh-hee-druh n) found in nature in the mineral pyrite also known as (fool’s gold). We hope it inspires the next generation of explorers growing up here in Summit!
